Stuff that occurs to me

All of my 'how to' posts are tagged here. The most popular posts are about blocking and private accounts on Twitter, also the science communication jobs list. None of the science or medical information I might post to this blog should be taken as medical advice (I'm not medically trained).

Think of this blog as a sort of nursery for my half-baked ideas hence 'stuff that occurs to me'.

When I started this particular blog in July 2009 I think what I really wanted was a wiki rather than a blog - something that could be updated and edited, independently of a timescale. I am really more interested in the topic than the month or year in which I wrote it. Occasionally I've revisited a topic and wanted to link in an earlier post - because of the way in which blogs are usually used it doesn't feel quite right to make too many changes to the original post once published.

Most of my other blog posts can be found at http://jobrodie.posterous.com - these are largely emails that I've forwarded with commentary but a few are just things written by me.

Anyway, some themes explored on this blog include (full list of posts below this index):
  • Archiving tweets and other social media stuff
